November 2016

On the Road . . .

My calendar year is structured around the pillars of spring and fall International Quilt Markets. After a few rigorous wholesale show days in Houston, I am happy to report that the new SCHMETZ Chrome Professional Grade needles are receiving rave reviews. If you are reading this newsletter, then I know you appreciate the value of a premium needle that resists heat and wear. SCHMETZ Chrome needles enhance your sewing experience with a smoother stitch because there is less abrasion on the needle at stitch formation. The SCHMETZ Chrome needle also stays cool longer. This is especially good news if you work with adhesives or sticky stabilizers. The needle will not gum up as quickly.

Quilt Market is also a time to catch up with creative friends. Here are a few friends you have already met through SCHMETZ Inspired to SEW: Joan Hawley #26, Cheryl Sleboda #25, Mary Mulari #33 & and Laura Coia, the next issue #36. Take a few minutes to review their creative profiles written by Rita Farro. It truly is my pleasure to know and be friends with so many kindred spirits.

Thanks for reading my newsletter and for being part of my sewing world!

Read about the evolution of Fabric Panels. If you were a girl in the 1970's, you may have loved Joni Mitchell and tie-dye, or maybe you were a Cher fan and bell bottoms and fringe were your groove. "Groovy" was a word you actually used. While we were watching movies like JAWS or Annie Hall, there was a quiet revival taking place. 1976, America's Bicentennial year, saw a rebirth of our national interest in quilting . . . .

SCHMETZ App - Android/Apple Versions

Wondering which needle to use? Wonder no more because there's an App for that! That's right ... and it's free! Available for iPhone/iPad and Android devices.

SCHMETZ needles are easy to identify! Most needles have two bands of color - the top band to identify needle type and the lower band to identify size. The Universal needle has just one band of color for size. Yahoo!
