Fascinating Kaffe Fassett

Fascinating ... Fascinator ... Fasset-nator ... I am fascinated that until three weeks ago I did not know what a fascinator was. Thanks to Google, a definition and images were readily available. Why? So I could create a Fassett-nator. Let me explain. Last week I made a quick trip to Houston TX for International Quilt Market, the wholesale show that inspires ALL quilters to triple our fabric stashes. Kaffe Fassett was there to celebrate 20 years of designing fabrics with ROWAN. I love Kaffe's big pattern designs playing to the rhythm of color. In fact, I am using 15 different Kaffe Fassett fabrics right now in a year-long quilt project, so I had a few scraps to spare. Mission complete! I not only made a Fassett-nator, but I wore it AND got my pic taken with Kaffe. I love Kaffe Fassett fabrics even more! Don't you love his quilts in the background of this pic?

At quilt market I was not the only one walking around wearing a fascinator or a Fassett-nator. Scroll below to meet Vickie Clontz of Annie's Keepsakes. Vickie was not only wearing a fabulous fascinator, but she designs them. In fact, you just may want to create your own fascinator. Have a fascinating month of sewing!

Tie One on Day

Give from the heart on Wednesday - then give thanks on Thursday.

This Thanksgiving Eve, Tie One On (an apron of course!) and bring joy to the life of someone in need.

Participation is easy and uplifting. Simply wrap a loaf of bread or baked good in an apron and tuck an encouraging note or prayer into the pocket; then present your offering to a neighbor, friend or person in your community who could benefit from your gesture of kindness. Tie One On - and put the "give" back into Thanksgiving.

"Women clad in aprons have traditionally prepared the Thanksgiving meal, and it is within our historical linkage to share our bounty." EllynAnne Geisel

Tie One On Day is a win-win, for the participant and the receiver. And by embracing TOOD, you will make someone else's day brighter.
