2016 Original Sewing & Quilting Expo, Lakeland FL

On the Road

The Original Sewing & Quilting Expo in Lakeland FL was a blast! Not only was I honored to teach two SCHMETZclasses, but look who I serendipitously had breakfast with, sewing icons Sue Hausmann, America Sews, and Ellen Osten, Sulky. Wowsa! Imagine the laughter at our table! That's the beauty of attending sewing & quilting shows and supporting your local machine dealers & fabric shops, you are surrounded by friends. Sewing friends never met until you are elbow to elbow in class, ogling new fabrics or inspecting stitches or a new technique. This is the magic, you can show up at a show or shop not knowing anyone. Share a simple smile over the love of sewing and you are not alone. You have a new friend!

Share the love of needle & thread my friends! The world needs more of us. Next stop for me is Sewcial Sewing Retreat in Detroit to give the lunch lecture on SCHMETZ needles. If our paths do not cross, follow SCHMETZneedles on Facebook

Meet Joan Hawley, Lazy Girl Designs, whose been "thinging" for almost 20 years. Joan makes things - not quilts, home dec or apparel. She's a thinger that has mastered the zipper. With Joan's clever zipper technique, you too will have a whole new attitude towards zippers. In fact, we think you will want to make quite a few of these adorable Sweetpea Pods and her other Lazy projects . . . just because they are cute and sharable. Joan's mission is to create shortcuts to sewing. Enjoy . . .   Click Here!

At last ... easy to identify SCHMETZ needles! Most needles now have two bands of color - the top band to identify needle type and the lower band to identify size. The Universal needle has just one band of color for size. Yahoo!
